Appeton with Lysine Syrup is a dietary supplement that contains not only lysine but other vitamins as well, such as vitamin A, D3, E, C, B1, B2, B6, nicotinamide and D-panthenol. This will help your kids improve their appetite and promote healthy growth. Plus, they will be able to meet the required intake of daily vitamins.

    Appeton with Lysine Syrup is a clear yellow syrup with a pleasant fruity/pineapple flavour.

    Appeton with Lysine Syrup is available in a 120ml amber glass bottle, together with a 5ml sterile syringe for volume measuring purposes.

  Is Appeton with Lysine Syrup 'Halal'?
   
In general, there is no "Halal" certificate granted for any pharmaceutical products. Appeton with Lysine Syrup does not contain ingredient with animal origin or alcohol. Therefore, consumption by Muslims is not an issue.

  What is the recommended dosage for Appeton with Lysine Syrup?
    Appeton with Lysine Syrup is to be taken once a day. It is recommended for children from 0-4 years to take 2.5ml daily. Children above 4 years are recommended to take 5ml daily

    There is no ideal time to take this supplement. But preferably make it a habit to take Appeton with Lysine Syrup after breakfast. This is to make sure that you remember taking it everyday.

Appeton with Lysine Syrup contains not only lysine but other essential vitamins as well. Therefore it is unnecessary to take other supplements. Consult your physician or pharmacist if you would like to take other supplements. Remember to also take into account the vitamins from daily food intake.

Appeton with Lysine Syrup is usually well tolerated and exerts no side effects if taken in the recommended dosage. However, caution must be taken in those with hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients.

There is no official recommended dietary allowance for lysine. FAO/WHO/UNU (1985) proposed that lysine requirement be 12mg/kg/d. Several study revealed that the FAO/WHO/UNU lysine requirement is insufficient to maintain lysine homeostasis in healthy adults. Instead, a mean lysine requirement value of 30mg/kg/d is more appropriate.

  Who are at risk of lysine deficiency?
   
Lysine is often deficient in the diets of strict vegetarians (those that exclude eggs and dairy products). Athletes involved in frequent vigorous exercise also have an increased need for essential amino acids although most diets are able meet this additional demand.

Numerous studies in Japan have revealed the importance of lysine in promoting physical development in children. A study conducted in Japan has proved it by giving a supplement containing 0.5g L-lysine HCl everyday to a group of children. At the end of the test, the average height and weight of the children with L-lysine supplement were recorded higher than those who did not take it.

A study indicated that L-lysine could enhance intestinal calcium absorption and improve renal conservation of the absorbed calcium. These combined effects may contribute to a positive calcium balance, thus suggesting a potential usefulness of L-lysine supplements for both preventive and therapeutic interventions in osteoporosis.

Appeton With Lysine Syrup contains no artificial colouring. The clear yellow colour is due to the natural colour of the vitamins.

Of course, as Appeton with Lysine contains other essential vitamins. Thus Appeton with Lysine can provide multivitamin to your child during this period and help to build immune system.

My son is 1 year old, should he take Appeton Lysine Multivitamin Tablets or Appeton with Lysine Syrup?
   
It depends on the capability of your child to suck and chew. If he is not able to chew or suck tablets, then you may feed him with Appeton with Lysine Syrup.
