  Omega 3 is well known by its cardio protective role. However, high doses of Omega 3 may cause adverse effects include increase in LDL and bleeding time, and worsening of glycemic control of diabetics. Omega 3 itself is a fat, thus taking too much of Omega 3 will contribute to excess energy and increase body weight eventually. (Medical Tribune, August 2002)

High level of cholesterol is associated with cardiovascular disease. However not all the cholesterol are bad for health. Cholesterol can be categorized as “good” cholesterol & “bad” cholesterol.
